Hi - I have malfunctioning rotary switches on my Thermador CT230. Symptom is that it's difficult (many tries are needed) to set a temperature, start a clean cycle, etc.

I have a replacement, have the "control compartment" lid pulled off, but can't figure out how to either:
1) remove the existing switch, and/or
2) remove the front control panel to access any hidden screws, clips, etc.

Anyone have a hint?

Thanks,

Mike

BTW, I couldn't figure out how to register on the login page...

Maybe not, but I feel pretty qualified to work on the control electronics as an electrical engineer.

That, and our local tech told me they won't work on one "that old" (15 years?). As we use it at most once a week, I reckon it's got a few good years left in it!

Can anyone help get me over the front control panel removal hurdle?

Thanks,

Mike

I have a CT127N and there should be two plastic nuts that hold the glass plate on the front of the oven behind the controls. Remove the clock and temperature control knobs (or all for that matter) and look at the shaft of the switches where the knobs attach for these nuts. My problem is the blower fan is on continuously and when the oven heats to temperature, the circuit breaker trips at the panel. Tech replaced the relay and selector switch with no change. Looking at the clock board next and maybe the control board after that. Since my response is late, you probably already figured it out or got a new oven.
