Our servers will be off line for a short time Sunday morning while we move the servers. Most ISP will behave properly and there will only be a few hours downtime. Some ISP may be late or early and you may not be able to connect. This move is planed between 9am and Noon eastern time. |

We have been going thu the membership roster. On the discussion board we have been a little lenient on whether a paid membership has expired but allowed access, however we have to clamp down. Downloads access has been strictly enforced. In the next few weeks all non paid members will be put on restricted access. Accounts that have not been accessed for a few years will be deleted. ALL Members must be registered in the master membership program. All notices for renewal are sent from the email address in the membership program, so all members are requested to check there payment status and email address asap and make any other record changes needed in the membership program. Currently the membership program does not automatically update the discussion board email address you must do that manually. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us get this taken care of in a timely manner, every member of STH is very important to us. Admin Staff Members link to this topic |

Some member reported servicetechhelp.com email to AOL as being spam. This happened on or just before March 14, 2007. As a result AOL has blocked all email and over 4000 emails to AOL have bounced and are having a huge effect on the servers. As a result I must take drastic action. Unless AOL users get AOL to fix this issue by the end of March all members with AOL email accounts will have their accounts suspended. You have 2 options: 1. Get ahold of AOL and have them fix the problem. 2. Change your email address in your profile to a non AOL email address. This also includes the master membership account. No new memberships will be considered that have an AOL email address untill further notice. http://postmaster.info.aol.com/contact/index.html Any further discussion, this will be in the members area http://servicetechhelp.com/cgi-bin/discus/board-auth.cgi?lm=1177119116&file=/3/18984.html Update 4-28-7 AOL seems to have removed us from there spam blocking list. We will see how it goes. (Message edited by admin on April 28, 2007) |

| Effective Today You will be asked for a login and password when downloading from the homepage. The Log in and password are the same as the rest of the site. We will be releasing the new search this week which will have direct links to the downloads and this is the only way we can reserve the integrity for paid members only. |

Were moving to the new server. The homepage will move sometime the week of Nov 26, 2006. There should be no downtime on for the homepage and the downloads since both the old server and new server will be online while the DNS's populate the new IP. However during this change no new memberships will be accepted, nor any changes including payments should be made. The Discus Discussion board at this time is not working on the new server, and if not working by wensday will be off line till the following weekend while the physical server is moved. The public homepage will be moved at a later date maybe and will be off line or discontinued for now. Important notes about this change: New server is a lot faster. All membership current acounts will work on the new server. Jabber server will move in here somewhere, but may be off line a few days. No need to change any links they are still: http://www.servicetechhelp.com for the homepage http://servicetechhelp.com/discus/ for the discussion board (no www) You may have to relog in to the homepage and discussion board. All those that have not logged in more then a year may loose there username. posting by email counts as logging in. |

Jan 21, 2003 You may need to change your shortcut's to the discussion board to: Http://www.ServiceTechHelp.com/discus/ If you have not already done so. I internally change the server name for this program from roymurray.net. Email will still be from/to roymurray.net. If you find any broken links, let me know the page by coping and pasting the title bar. Thanks |

Spell Checker is now working. For those that don't know how a spell checker works, It literally checks against list of known words and marks those it does not know. The spell checker this board is using has 600,000 known words. There will be errors in known and unknown words to please feel free to send me any corrections so I can add or delete as needed. It does not correct grammer or marks words that are spelled right but used in the wrong context. Spell checker must be activated in your user profile, However spell checking will slightly slow down your posting. |

As a very nice request from admin to members: Please do not upload or try to upload MS Doc uploads or attachments. MS Doc is the fast way to spread a virus or worm. To protect the integertty of this site and our members, if you must use .doc format email it to me to be scannned, or better yet save it as a .txt and save us all the trouble. In no way will we allow any virus or worm to come from this site or any download from this site. Not all members use MS Products. It is best to use PDF format or a .txt format. The .doc that was posted is scanned and is clean. As of yesterday .doc is no long allowed as a site policy. Attemping to upload .doc may be grounds for removal of your site access. We do not want to limit input to the site in any way, But we must protect our site members. Please feel free to email Me, and I would be more then glad to scan a file of any kind and make it avalible to all are members. Again The Doc was clean and checked by me.
